Phase I — The Rhythm of Existence

Phase I — The Rhythm of Existence

Pulse, gait and breath as the engines of life. The first phase of the JCU residency translated the heartbeat, the lungs and the walking rhythm into triple globular flutes and tongue drums.

The direction of the heart is the direction in which our feet walk. Heart Steps and Aire y Latido were the first translations of the anatomical theme into the work — small gnome-like beings that carry the cadence born from every breath.

Drum Bell Head closed the phase: the tongue drum as mental-cleansing mechanism, resonating with the rhythmic firing of our neural networks.
