Phase III — Alchemical Transformation

Nigredo, Albedo, and the unexpected witch. The residency closed with works heavily charged with shadow and light — and a piece that refused to leave the darkness.
When the feelings are not well, the stomach somatises the pain. La Nigredo uses the language of thorns to represent emotional suffering prior to illumination, integrating a death whistle as a sonic scream.
The piece that was meant to be Albedo became, through an excess of copper, a forest witch. An honest, dense energy I have grown to embrace.
