Phase III — Alchemical Transformation
Nigredo, Albedo, and the unexpected witch. The residency closed with works heavily charged with shadow and light, and with a piece that refused to leave the darkness.
When feelings are unwell, the stomach somatizes the pain. La Nigredo uses the language of thorns to represent emotional suffering prior to illumination, integrating a death whistle as a sonic scream.
The piece that was meant to be Albedo became, due to an excess of copper, a forest witch. An honest and dense energy that I have grown to embrace.
